When a photographer asks you to take her photos you humbly accept. I was so thrilled to capture this beautiful family in Georgian Bay, Muskoka, on a favourite trail of mine in Port Severn. As a photographer, you are generally the one in the family who takes all the photos and it doesn’t take long before you realize there is a huge piece of that family puzzle missing as you scan through your family pics. When Victoria told me “she just wanted some family photos where she was actually in them” I could totally relate.

Macrae Lake: Family Hike

Did I tell you that I love my job? Well, I do. I. LOVE. MY. JOB!

Macrae Lake is one of my favourite places in Georgian bay to paddle and to hike, so when this lovely family asked me to photograph them on a family hike here, it was a no brainer! This was my second time photographing Erin and her family, and since the first time I knew there was something special about this family. Eager and keen to venture outdoors, this outdoor adventurous family inspires me to get out more with my own family. Lots of Love!

I love when I get to photograph a family from my community here in Port Severn, Georgian Bay There's something so comforting in hanging with a family that knows where you're from. It's also a bonus when the family is totally your people and you get a chance to get to know them a little bit better. Also, huge bonus when they offer you a glass of red! Life at the Cottage - Twelve Mile Lake, Georgian Bay

So, let me start by saying, I have seriously fallen in love with 'Life at the Cottage' family sessions.  I cherish my time spent at my own cottage, and love re-living childhood memories there.   And as I've grown older, and have children of my own, I think I've been able to truly appreciate how lucky I am to have my cottage.  Capturing another family, doing what they do, at the cottage, gives me all the feels, because I get it.  Wearing wet swim suits all day, sun in our faces, jumping off the dock, hot dogs for lunch, and only the ones we love most, to do it all with us.  Thanks for bringing me back to my childhood and letting me capture these awesome moments in your most favourite spaces.
